Wedding Night Lingerie Guide

bellini gown template With all the excitement of the big day it can be easy to forget about the wedding night lingerie.  Traditionally this would have been the first time a groom would spend the night with his bride.  It’s very different now and the majority of brides have already lived with their future husband and so there is very little mystery.

If you aren’t too exhausted it is a lovely idea to get changed in to a gorgeous little negligee or chemise and there is a huge range to suit everyone. Many brides like to wear an ivory or other very pale colour leaving the brighter lingerie for the honeymoon.

When choosing a bridal negligee there are lots of options.

Fabric – silk, satin or lace

Length – full length, knee length or shorter

Style – babydoll, simple, romantic, traditional or ornate

What you choose will reflect your own personal tastes but it is always a good idea to try on a few different styles before making your final decision.

Bridal Nightwear Style Guide

Busty Beauties – a lot of designers don’t increase the size of the soft cups in chemises so there isn’t always enough fabric to fit.  Try a negligee with pleats on the bust or one with out tailored cups.

Athletic Lovelies – you can go wild with frills and lace without looking too fussy.  Be aware if you are petite not too drown yourself in ruffles.

Tall Temptresses – Many full length gowns won’t be floor skimming if you are over 5’6” so look at something just above the knee to show off your long limbs.

What ever you choose you will look beautiful!  Getting married soon?  then check out the rest of the Bridal Lingerie Series.
