Lingerie Chat – August 29 Open Q&A

Welcome to this weeks summary of lingerie chat! The topic of this week’s lingerie chat was an open Q and A. Here is a summary of everything we chatted about:

@Jacqueline_Soak asked, “We are now warehousing in the UK. What would be a good strategy for introducing Soak to stockists?”

@Plums Lingerie said, “It’s tricky in a recession, your wash may be regarded as an added luxury rather than essential.”

@JanesVanity said, “We’ve carried Soak for years. Customers have become quite loyal to it; it’s a great fit for a lingerie shop!”

@franticafrances asked, “Do you think customers prefer ‘basic’ undies, or luxury feminine undies?… how do customers find out about different lingerie brands? Adverts? Internet? Celebs?”

While most of our participants would opt for luxury pieces, it was noted that basic were popular and have a place, and that customer are loyal to the brands they adore. It was also agreed that building loyalty, no matter the brand, was a must:

Q1. @DirectorySexy asked, “I’ve been curious as to what’s most important part of bridal lingerie is, as in what do most women look for in bridal lingerie?”

@piperewan said, “I think it’s important to differentiate between what you need as foundation garments for a particular dress & your bridal bed (wedding night/honeymoon)…sometimes the underpinnings for a bridal gown aren’t the sexiest underneath, but provide the proper structure for the dress… I tend to build it in or around the dress for what the bride wants & works best for design & fit of the dress”

Carine Gilson RobeAfter two weeks off, LingerieChat is back! The topic of this week’s lingerie chat was designer v. luxury lingerie. This post is a summary of everything we chatted about:

Q1. How would you define designer lingerie?

@LingerieLayla said, “I think where the brand/designs are focused by a specific designer’s vision vs. a team/co.” and @HSNoir said agreed “Lingerie that is sold on the basis of its branding.”

@PlumsLingerie asked “Is it just something will a well known label i.e. Christian Dior?”

@LingerieLayla added answered, “Having worked at lingerie “divisions” of major labels, they are very “trend” and “brand” focused.”

@RosaLingerie said, “A lot of my customers seem to think it is like D&G or other really well known designer.”

@Misstreated_ca added, “Designer lingerie, well known brand, current styles, moderate to more expensive, quality varies.”

@LingerieLayla said, “”designer lingerie” brands tend to be innovative in the field of lingerie, design, color, etc- ie. they take risks” — @PlumsLingerie said she’d take up the notion of risks a little later… (more…)

Bra styles

This week’s lingerie chat and has been our most well attended. The topic of bra fitting has struck a chord resulted in really active discussion.

Q1.When was the last time you got fitted for a bra?

The answers ranged from one year to I can’t remember when, and this is from a group of women who are the working industry or passionate about lingerie. It is indicative of how few women get regular fitted.
